Ray Kappe Livinghome
The late architect Ray Kappe, FAIA, partnered with Plant Prehab, to create this famous Santa Monica show home (the first home in the world to achieve LEED Platinum certification). We had the pleasure to provide the structural engineering for this project and several other remarkable custom projects, and LivingHomes.
This particular house is unique, with its first floor open with horizontal and vertical discontinuity, following the slope of the land. An additional system was used for the foundation due to the terrain profile and also to comply with the laws of the City of Los Angeles.
